9 Super Famous Chihuahuas (Real & Cartoons) - ChiPets.com

Famous Chihuahua images in this article were sourced from Google search.  We do not own or represent any of the famous Chihuahuas in this article.

Chihuahuas.  You love them.  We love them.  The world loves them.  Need proof?  Check out these 9 famous Chihuahuas who won over the world!

1. Ren & Stimpy – Famous Chihuahua Cartoon

Any kid who group up in the 90’s will remember this hyperactive Chi and his crazy companion cat cartoon. The high-strung Chihuahua was known as Ren.  His slightly clueless cat-friend was Stimpy.

Ren’s general Chihuahua nervousness easily turned into irritation and anger directed toward Stimpy in their cartoon escapades. Ren’s need for control (sound like any Chihuahuas you know?) often caused issues for the duo as they met weird characters and went on strange adventures through their neighborhood, the Wild West, the frozen north, and outer space.

Even when Ren’s tiny, Chihuahua outrage spilled over and turned him into a quivering emotional wreck, his cat-friend was always there to take care of him.

“Happy, happy, joy, joy” ~ Ren & Stimpy

2. Chloe the Chihuahua (Beverly Hills Chihuahua) – Famous Chihuahua from Real Life

3. Papi (Beverly Hills Chihuahua) – Famous Chihuahua Mix from Real Life

Angel is the real-life Chihuahua who starred as “Chloe,” in the movie Beverly Hills Chihuahua.  If you haven’t seen this movie yet, it is absolutely worth watching.  Angel, had been dumped by her previous owners before the trainer for Beverly Hills Chihuahua found her, and helped her to Chihuahua fame by starring in the movie.  The number of tricks and various behaviors Angel displays in the movie is absolutely amazing!  She is clearly a very smart Chihuahua!

Rusco, the other star in the movie Beverly Hills Chihuahua, is a Chi mix.  He was also discovered by the film’s animal trainer.  Rusco was waiting for his home on an online website. He played the poor Mexican Chi, “Papi,” in the movie.  Like Angel, he demonstrates a wide variety of tricks and behaviors in the movie, demonstrating once again how smart and wonderful Chihuahuas are as pets!

4. Gidget (“Yo Quero Taco Bell” Chihuahua) – Famous Chihuahua from Real Life

Who else misses the Taco Bell Chihuahua? We certainly do!  Although a human man voiced the catchphrase, “Yo quiero Taco Bell”, in the fast-food chain’s classic commercials, the starring role was given to a Chihuahua named Gidget. Not only did Gidget appear in the Taco Bell ads, but she made personal appearances for Taco Bell events, arriving in limousines and flying to her destinations in first class! The amazing little Gidget passed in 2009, several years after retiring from her canine stardom.

5. Tinkerbelle (Paris Hilton’s Chihuahua) – Famous Chihuahua from Real Life

This little Chihuahua’s fame started when she made regular appearances in the reality show, The Simple Life alongside her owner, Paris Hilton, and Nicole Richie. In 2004, Tinkerbell’s fame reached new heights when Paris Hilton released the tell-all memoir “The Tinkerbell Hilton Diaries: My Life Tailing Paris Hilton”.

This famous Chihuahua also hit headlines in 2004 when she went missing shortly after her book was released. Fortunately she was reunited with Paris in less than a week after Paris offered an over $3,000 reward for Tinkerbell’s safe return.

Tinkerbell passed at the age of 14 in 2015.

6. Tito (Oliver & Company Chihuahua) – Famous Chihuahua Cartoon

Tito is the proud, scrappy little Chihuahua from Disney’s 1988 movie, Oliver & Company.  Tito, who’s full name is Ignacio Alonzo Julio Frederico de Tito, often seems to forget how small he is as his fiery Chihuahua temper gets him into fights with anybody…including dogs much larger than himself.  So, yes, Tito perpetuates the stereotype that Chihuahuas are mean little dogs.

However, Tito’s hooligan personality is tame when he’s around the ladies of Oliver & Company, when he suddenly transforms from a temperamental, pushy, hyper, tough little Chihuahua to a flirtatious and good-hearted little guy.

7. Bruiser Woods (Legally Blonde Chihuahua) – Famous Chihuahua from Real Life

If you’ve watched Legally Blonde, you can’t help but remember Reese Witherspoon’s (Elle Wood’s), tiny co-star, Bruiser Woods.

Bruiser Woods, who was known as Moonie in real life, starred alongside Reese Witherspoon in both Legally Blonde movies.  He was a confident, social, and fashionable Chihuahua in both the films.  And, according to Elle, a “Gemini Vegetarian”.

Moonie passed at the age of 18 in 2016.

8. Madness (Spooky Chihuahua from Invader Zim) – Famous Chihuahua Cartoon

Zorphic, otherwise known as “Madness”, is an alien from the “Morphic” race that took the appearance of Chihuahuas in the cartoon series, Invader Zim.  Madness, is a small dog with a chipped ear, one brown iris and a stitch across its head came to Earth peacefully to observe things, which ultimately led to its repeated encounters with the other cartoon’s characters. He made several appearances over the course of the cartoon series. The tiny cartoon Chihuahua was dubbed “Madness” by fans as its’ first introduction into the cartoon series, as the main character of the cartoon, Zim, screams “MADNESS!” upon seeing the tiny alien dog for the first time in the episode “Walk of Doom”.

9. Wheely Willy (Celebrity Chihuahua) – Famous Chihuahua from Real Life
